PPCC Holds Forum On Consultantís Working Paper

The Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) announces the holding of a consultative forum to discuss the Consultantís Working Paper for the development of a comprehensive Public Procurement and Concessions Act Regulations and Manual.

 

The forum which takes place on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 on the campus of the Baptist Theological Seminary on the Robertsfield Highway will bring together key stakeholders and representatives from procuring entities of the Liberian government.

 

The Tuesday interactive forum will afford stakeholders the opportunity to make their inputs on the Consultantís Working Paper for inclusion in the Regulations and Manual for the smooth implementation of the Public Procurement and Concessions Act.        

 

Key entities of the Liberian government, business community and civil society are expected to participate in the one day interactive forum. The participating entities include Ministries of Internal Affairs, Public Works, Finance, Planning and Economic Affairs, Health, Lands, Mines and Energy, Education, Transport, and Agriculture.

 

Others are Liberia Reconstruction and Development Corporation, Association of Construction Contractors, Liberia Chambers of Commerce, Bureau of Concessions, Liberia Institute of Public Administration, National Oil Company of Liberia, Forestry Development Authority, Liberia Business Association, National Social Security and Welfare Corporation, National Investment Commission among others. 

 

It can be recalled that on July 8, 2008, the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission, after a rigorous bidding process, signed a contract with General Law Consult to develop a comprehensive Regulations and Manual for the smooth implementation of the Public Procurement and Concessions Act of Liberia.
