The Senior Management Team (SMT) at the Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI) has delivered twenty motorbikes, four pickups, one jeep and a thirty five seated bus to its employees. The huge package, worth thousands of United States Dollars was officially presented today (March 17, 2026) at the Ministry’s EJS Ministerial Complex office in Congo Town during a brief program graced by scores of MoCI employees from Montserrado County and rural Liberia. Unveiling the vehicles and motorbikes, the Minister of Commerce & Industry, Magdalene E. Dagoseh, said the vehicles and motorbikes would enhance the performance of the Ministry’s employees across Liberia, especially regional coordinators and county inspectors. Minister Dagoseh particularly made reference to effective monitoring of the Ministry’s activities, including price control.
As stated initially, the presentation includes a thirty five seated bus to ease the difficulties experienced by the employees to get to work and back home. She called for proper maintenance of the items, considering the cost associated procuring them and also the need to improve the operational performance of MoCI regional coordinators/ county inspectors. She warned against the vehicles and motorbikes being used for non-related activities, noting that administrative action will be taken against anyone caught misusing the cars and motorbikes. Minister Dagoseh hailed the African Development Bank, World Bank and the YEIP Project for their partnership with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. She also commended members of the SMT and the employees for their cooperation.
Responding on behalf of the employees, MoCI Regional Coordinator for Bong and Lofa Counties, Dauda Massaquoi, thanked the SMT for the vehicles and motorbikes- adding that the initiative will indeed improve their operational capacities.
