The Vice Executive Chairperson of the LACC, Mr. Arthur W. B. Fumbah, has challenged the Commission's Staff to Become Ambassadors of Change by Demonstrating Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability in the Discharge of their Duties
Mr. Fumbah made the call during the Commission’s monthly learning session, an internal capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen staff knowledge and understanding of the LACC’s mandate, mission, vision, and operations.
The monthly sessions are facilitated on a rotational basis by the Commission’s four departments: Administration; Education and Prevention; Monitoring and Investigation; and Legal and Prosecution.
Serving as the Oversight Commissioner for the Education and Prevention Department, Mr. Fumbah emphasized that the fight against corruption must begin with individuals, noting that ethical conduct, personal integrity, and collective responsibility are essential to building an accountable institution.
He also discussed three key factors associated with fraudulent behavior: rationalization, opportunity, and pressure, explaining how these elements can contribute to fraud and why understanding them is important in identifying vulnerabilities, strengthening institutional safeguards, and preventing corrupt practices.
He further urged staff to lead by example, uphold the highest standards of professionalism, and consistently reflect the values and principles of the Commission in their daily responsibilities.
Mr. Fumbah stressed that meaningful institutional transformation begins with individual commitment, reminding staff that everyone has a role to play in promoting integrity and advancing the Commission’s mandate.
The session forms part of the LACC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen internal capacity, promote ethical leadership, and foster a workplace culture grounded in accountability and transparency.
The fight against corruption begins with us!
