The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MOCI) wishes to inform the general public that it has successfully concluded a consultative meeting with the Liberia Water Producers Association (LWPA) regarding the recent increase in the price of sachet water on the Liberian market.

Following extensive discussions, the Ministry and the leadership of the LWPA have agreed that the approved and acceptable market price for a sack of sachet water shall not exceed Eighty-Five Liberian Dollars (LD$85.00).

MOCI further calls on all water producers, distributors, shop owners, and retailers across the country to strictly comply with the approved price not exceeding LD$85.00 per sack. The Ministry warns that any business entity found violating this directive by arbitrarily increasing prices will face appropriate regulatory actions in accordance with the laws of Liberia.

MoCI warns all retailers to strictly comply with the price not exceeding LD$5.00 for a bag of water. Any retailer found violating this directive by arbitrarily increasing the price for a bag of water will face appropriate regulatory actions in accordance with the laws of Liberia.

The Ministry remains committed to promoting a fair, stable, and affordable market system for all Liberians and appreciates the public for its continuous cooperation and understanding.
