LACC Chairperson Outlines FY2025 Milestones on Truth FM
The Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), Cllr. Alexandra K. Zoe, highlighted the Commission’s key achievements for Fiscal Year 2025 during a recent appearance on Truth FM/TV.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with O’Neal Roberts on the Truth Breakfast Show on Thursday, March 12, 2026, Cllr. Zoe characterized 2025 as a year of “intensified action.” She emphasized that the Commission strengthened its efforts to prevent, investigate, and prosecute corruption while also promoting a culture of integrity within public institutions.
Cllr. Zoe noted that the Commission significantly exceeded its investigative targets for the fiscal year. While the initial target was 16 investigations, the Monitoring and Investigations Department conducted 44 investigations involving various ministries, agencies, and state-owned enterprises. Of these, 29 cases were concluded, involving the alleged misuse of approximately US$13 million and over LRD 17 million.
The LACC secured six indictments, resulting in three convictions and one acquittal. Despite these successes, Cllr. Zoe noted that court docket congestion and the absence of a specialized anti-corruption court remain major obstacles to the swift resolution of cases.
The Chairperson also reported record-breaking figures under the Asset Declaration Regime. A total of 2,430 public officials declared their assets, representing over 90 percent compliance, while 2,360 officials signed National Integrity Pledges.
These enforcement measures directly informed presidential actions in 2025, including the suspension of several officials for non-compliance.
In her closing remarks, Cllr. Zoe stated that the LACC is moving toward digitalizing the asset declaration system to further enhance transparency and efficiency. She concluded by acknowledging the continued support of development partners, whose capacity-building initiatives remain critical to strengthening the Commission’s work.
